UnTransLaTable

Kaye Strange

We can assume that the traditional function of the photograph is to capture place and time of an event or object. But what happens if we don’t abide by this assumption, what effect does this have on the integrity of the medium? UnTransLaTable, is the title for a collection of large scale photographs that demonstrate the beauty of the photographic image that does not have to rely on reality for meaning or purpose.  The images have been created using photographic techniques for their own inherent characteristics.  In a way it’s painting with light and colour to create and capture form.
