Darwin Visual Arts Association Inc. is a community based organisation dedicated to supporting both the production, promotion and appreciation of Visual Art by local artists in all media, as well as increasing public awareness and audience participation in contemporary visual art in Darwin. DVAA is an artist run initiative.

Memberships cost is $35.00, or $20 for students / unwaged. your DVAA membership entitles you to:

  • regular mail outs including newsletters, invitations to exhibitions and events;
  • regular emails about all things visual arts including competitions, opportunities, workshops and forums;
  • 10% discount at Jacksons Drawing Supplies located in Parap Village;
  • entry into the annual DVAA Members Show;
  • 4 affordable Artist Studios available for rent on a 6monthly basis
  • the opportunity to submit a proposal for an exhibition at Woods Street Gallery or DEAF (Darwin Experimental Art Foundation) Space;
  • access to the library of contemporary art magazines, catalogues & books;
  • check your email and use the internet (wireless is available for lap-top users);
  • access to the DVAA AV Equipment (Data Projector, Sony HD DVD Handy cam & Canon EOS– thanks to the NT Gov: Community Benefit Fund);
  • have a say in the organisational direction by joining the DVAA Committee
  • Help with funding and other visual arts applications and general mentoring

Memberships expire in May each year.
