DVAA is so much more than a place – it is you, our members and the Darwin public.
The big move is finally here!
DVAA is in the process of moving from Frog Hollow Arts Precinct as instructed by our funder, Arts NT.
It has been an emotive time for everyone, leaving the lovely Frog Hollow with DVAA’s history in that space, watching the bulldozers move in and importantly, ensuring we can keep operating during the transition to the Ground Floor of Harbour View Plaza at 8 McMinn St, Darwin.
We understand that this transition is difficult for some of our members. Please bear with us as the Committee and staff team manage the move and keep the heart of DVAA beating strongly. We are here for our member artists and are working towards a bigger and brighter 2019 program!
Our new gallery and studios at Harbour View Plaza have not yet been upgraded to gallery standards so in the meantime, we have made other arrangements.
The current exhibition (well worth seeing), is hanging at Frog Hollow and closes this Sunday.
The next exhibition will hang in Live Darwin Hub in Smith St Mall from September 7th, opening at 6pm. Come and enjoy the journey with us!
From the end of September, exhibitions for the rest of the year will hang in Mayfair Gallery and be staffed by Alison and/or Belinda – business as usual. We have a small office in the Hills Hoist studios (at back of Mayfair Gallery).
Our office phone is now disconnected and we will soon have a new office number – watch this space!
The office will not be full time staffed as we are ensuring we are with the exhibitions to make sales and engage with people attending so if you’d like to come and say hi or talk about something specific please call 0409 182 993 between midday and 5pm Tuesday to Friday so we can ensure we are available.
A huge thank you to Live Darwin Hub and to Dave and Britt at Mayfair Gallery and Hills Hoist Studios. We are ever grateful for your support during our transition.
